Stung Treng is a province in the north of Cambodia and far about ~455km away from Phnom Penh capital and borders to the Ratanakiri province, Mondulkiri province, Kratie province, Kampong Thom province, Preah Vihear province, and the Laos border. The original name of Stung Treng province is Seang Teng.

Stung Treng is a province bordering the Mekong River in the north of Cambodia and is one of the most potential tourism destinations in the country. The province has a town called Stung Treng.

In the past, the name of Stung Treng province was Seang Teng Province. The province has many tourist spots, especially in the culture and nature, which is welcoming international or national tourists to many other provinces.

Besides, the province also has an eco-tourism site near National Road No 7 boundary between Stung Treng province and Kratie province, and there will surely make tourists interested and relaxed.

Stung Treng Province has its borders next to Ratanakiri, Mondulkiri, Kratie, Kampong Thom, Preah Vihear, and Lao country. The province is about 395km away from Phnom Penh, starting from New Roundabout (Stung Treng Province) to Wat Phnom (Phnom Penh), traveling from Stung Treng province along National Road 7, connecting National Road 73 and linked to National Road 8.

For tourism, Stung Treng also has some tourist attractions  because the province has covered by hilly area, nature, historical sites and temples. Besides, for recreational tourism, there are other many resorts designed to cater to the needs of leisure travels.

As for types of tourism, the province includes: natural, cultural, and recreational tourism. However, natural tourism is the most popular in the area, because it has sandy islands, mountains, waterfalls and natural scenery, which making the place interesting for everyone. And for the cultural tourism area has ancient temples.
