Ratanakiri(ខេត្តរតនគីរី) is a province in the northeastern of Cambodia and far about ~586km away from Phnom Penh capital and borders to the Mondulkiri province, Stung Treng province, the Vietnam border, and the Laos border.

Ratanakiri is a province in the northeastern part of Cambodia, and is one of the largest forest cover areas in the country. The province has a town called Banlung and its symbol is the Independence Monument Roundabout. Ratanakiri province is rich in beautiful natural resources, and is home for origin ethnic minorities people.

In the past, Ratanakiri province was under French colonial rule and its pre-provincial town was in Lumphat district, but nowadays, this town once again moved to Banlung.

Rattanakiri has its borders next to Stung Treng province in the west, to the east bordering Vietnam, to the north by Laos, and to the south to Mondulkiri. The province is about 501km from Phnom Penh, starting from the Independent Monument (Rattanakiri Province) to Wat Phnom (Phnom Penh) by traveling from Ratanakiri Province along National Road 78 linked to National Road 73 and connected to National Road 8.

Basically, the province depends on doing farms such as rice, coffee, rubber, corn, pumpkin, peanut and cashew nuts, and so on. Regarding the potential of tourism, this province is famous for international and local tourists as it has many interesting places of natural resources such as: forest, wildlife, waterfalls, mountains, natural lakes and national parks, etc. Besides, there are also cultural, and historical sites, especially those areas have many indigenous people living, including Tampuans, Kreung, Jarai, Kachoks, and Prov or Krovit. Tourists who visit to the area can find or know about indigenous peoples' daily lives and learn about traditional customs, respects, and sacrificing their faith, etc.
