Pursat(ខេត្តពោធិ៍សាត់) is a province in the western of Cambodia and far about ~189km away from Phnom Penh capital and borders to the Kampong Chhnang province, Kampong Speu province, Koh Kong province, Battambang province, Siem Reap province, Kampong Thom province, and the Thailand border.

Pursat is a province bordering next to the Tonle Sap lake in western part of Cambodia, and covers a large area with a mountain range. It has a town called Pursat and its symbol is the Ptel Tmor Keo Roundabout.

According to the ancient Khmer story, a tiny pomelo tree was flew in water in a village, and they were taken to plant, that's why it's called that village Po Rosatt, which later became Pursat. There is also a type of orange called "Orange Pursat", which is originally from Pursat province. But most recently, the oranges are growing in Battambang province.

Pursat province borders Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Speu, Koh Kong, Battambang, Siem Reap, Kompong Thom, and Thailand. It is about 187km from Phnom Penh, from Sampov Meas Island (Pursat Province) to Wat Phnom (Phnom Penh), traveling from Pursat to National Road 5 and connecting to National Highway 6.

Basically, the province is based on rice cultivation, planting of fruit trees and sculptures made of marble. Marble originates from the Tasai mountain, Mount Yon and Mount Spoung, in the Cardamon mountain range in Pursat province, only in this region has the best marbles and is also the largest producer. While in the tourism sector, although this province is not a part of the ancient temples, the main parts of the province are filled with war history, and natural resources; they are great places as well comparing to other provinces. The province has many historical sites and natural areas such as: mountains, waterfalls, and so on. making vsitors having a relaxing or luxurious landscape and take fresh air from those sights on holidays as well as on weekends.

As for types of tourism, this province includes: nature, cultural, and recreational tourism. However, natural tourism is the most popular in the area, because the province is a mountainous area with natural resources such as forests, waterfalls, mountains and various scenic spots that are of interest to everyone. As for cultural tourism sites, there are also historical sites for tourists to explore. In addition, the recreational tourism areas include: Riverside resorts, and so on which all designed to cater to the needs of leisure travels.
