Kandal(ខេត្តកណ្តាល) is a province in the southeastern of Cambodia and far about ~11km away from Phnom Penh capital and borders to the Prey Veng province, Takeo province, Kampong Cham province, and the Vietnam borders.
Kandal is located in the southeastern part of Cambodia, and is surrounded by the whole of Phnom Penh. It has a town called Takhmao and its symbol the Takhmao Roundabout.
Kandal Province has its borders next to Prey Veng Province in the east, to Kampong Cham Province in the north-east, to Vietnam in the south-east, and to Takeo Province in the south. The province is about 11km from Phnom Penh, starting from Takhmao (Kandal Province) to Wat Phnom (Phnom Penh) along National Road No 2.
Basically, the province depends on fishing, farming. The region's agricultural products include: coconut oil, peanut, rice and pepper…etc. Besides, local people also specialize in wood carvings, silk weaving and handicrafts.
For tourism, the province also has many tourism sites including: mountainous site, temples, riverside resorts and many recreational resorts are set up to cater to the needs of leisure travels.
