Kampong Thom(ខេត្តកំពង់ធំ) is a central province of Cambodia and far about ~168km away from Phnom Penh capital and borders to the Kampong Cham province, Kampong Chhnang province, Pursat province, Siem Reap province, Preah Vihear province, Stung Treng province, Kratie province, and Tonle Sap in the west.

Kampong Thom is a province in the central of Cambodia and is one of the most potential tourism destinations in the country. The province has a town called Stung Sen and its symbol Elephant staying on tiger status. Stung Sen is a town with beautiful scenery along the coast of Stung Sen.

Kampong Thom Province has its borders next to Tonle Sap Lake in the west, to the east to Kratie Province, to the North to Preah Vihear Province and to the South to Kampong Chhnang Province and Kampong Cham Province. The province is about 165km from Phnom Penh, starting from the roundabout of Elephant staying on tiger statue(Kampong Thom) to Wat Phnom (Phnom Penh), from Kompong Thom along National Road 6.

Basically, the province depends on rice cultivation, planting of fruit trees, fishing and cashew nuts. In addition, people in the area also work as craftsmen, creating stone as sculptures or any shapes for home decorations and hand-made items such as: Kroma, Houl, Pamuong, clothes or bags using traditional Khmer styles.

For tourism, the province is a potential tourist destination with a number of lakes, forests, forests, mountains and many ancient temples as well.

As for types of tourism, the province includes: natural, cultural, and recreational tourism. However, cultural tourism is the most popular in the area because the province has ancient temples, mountains, and historical lakes. Natural places include mountains, waterfalls and natural landscapes, which are of interest to everyone. Besides, for recreational tourism, there are many resorts designed to cater to the needs of leisure travels.
