Kampong Cham(ខេត្តកំពង់ចាម) is a province of Cambodia, located on the central plains of the Mekong River and far about ~124km away from Phnom Penh capital and borders to the Prey Veng province, Phnom Penh capital, Kampong Chhnang province, Kratie province, and the Vietnam border.

Kampong Cham is a province next to Mekong river in the east of Cambodia. It is also the second most populous province in the country. It has a town called Kampong Cham.

Previously, the territory of Kampong Cham was an island for ships and sailors waiting each other only. Later, people gathered to settle here and established a major waterway trade center at that time. Kompong Cham has also split into another province, Tbong Khmum, the western part of the Mekong River, is cut to Kompong Cham and the eastern part of the Mekong River is cut into Tbong Khmum.

Kampong Cham province borders Kampong Thom and Kratie provinces in the west, Prey Veng in the east, Tbong Khmum in the north, and Kandal in the south. The province is approximately 122km from Phnom Penh, from Friendship Hotel (Kampong Cham) to Wat Phnom (Phnom Penh).

For tourism, this province is attractive and interesting for tourists who love to study history, visit the temple complex, mountain, etc.

If we talk about the types of tourism, this province includes: natural, cultural, and recreational tourism. However, cultural tourism is the most popular in the area, because the province has ancient temples and historic sites. Natural tourism include mountains, waterfalls and natural landscapes, which are interesting places to everyone. Besides, for recreational tourism, there are many resorts designed to cater to the needs of leisure travelers.
