Kandal is located in the southeastern part of Cambodia, and is surrounded by the whole of Phnom Penh. It has a town called Takhmao and its symbol the Takhmao Roundabout.
Kandal Province has its borders next to Prey Veng Province in the east, to Kampong Cham Province in the north-east, to Vietnam in the south-east, and to Takeo Province in the south. The province is about 11km from Phnom Penh, starting from Takhmao (Kandal Province) to Wat Phnom (Phnom Penh) along National Road No 2.
Basically, the province depends on fishing, farming. The region's agricultural products include: coconut oil, peanut, rice and pepper…etc. Besides, local people also specialize in wood carvings, silk weaving and handicrafts.

For tourism, the province also has many tourism sites including: mountainous site, temples, riverside resorts and many recreational resorts are set up to cater to the needs of leisure travels.
The recreational tourism site in the province including – Phum Tnaot Phum Than Sokhpheap, Phum Phka Trokoun, S'ang Phnom, Boeng Konsan, 7NG Natural World Resort, Seametrey Leisure Centre, Synny Water Park 2, Thommacheat Restaurant.As for the cultural tourism site has – S'ang Phnom.
