Pailin is a province in the north of the Cardamon Mountains in the west of Cambodia and is surrounded by Battambang Province. The province has a town called Pailin and its symbol Grandma Yat statue Roundabout.
Pailin province has its borders next to Battambang and Thailand. The province is about 372km away from Phnom Penh, starting from the round about of Grandma Yat (Pailin) statue to Wat Phnom (Phnom Penh) if traveling from Pailin on National Road 5 only.
Mainly, the province is dependent on farmers who are planting various crops such as mango, bananas, rambutan, durian, corn, and potatoes. In addition, some people are also involved in finding gems in the ground. Because it is far from Phnom Penh and there are no wellknown resorts; that is why tourists are less likely to visit Pailin province.
As for types of tourism, this province includes: natural and recreational tourism. However, natural tourism seems to be the most popular in the area because the province is a region of forest, waterfall, mountains and various scenic spots that are of interest to everyone. Besides, there are many recreational resorts designed to cater to the needs of leisure travels.The recreational tourism site in the province including – Mlob Sbov Baitong, Memoria Palace & Resort, Chomka Khnor Resort, Ang Jing Chok.
And the cultural tourism site including – Phnom Yat.
