Oddar Meanchey is a province in the north of Cambodia and is a potential site for searching of minerals such as coal, gold, nickel, limestone, iron and lead…etc. The province has a town called Samraong and its symbol Anlong Veng Roundabout.
Oddar Meanchey province has its borders next to Banteay Meanchey in the west, to Preah Vihear province in the east, to Thailand border in the north, and to the south, to Siem Reap. And the province is about 462km from Phnom Penh, from the roundabout Anlong Veng (Otdar Meanchey province) to Wat Phnom (Phnom Penh), departing from Oddar Meanchey Province along National Road 68 and linked to National Road No 6.
Basically, the province depends on fishing, farming, planting fruit and people migrating to Thailand. The tourism sector is a province that has a cultural heritage from the Khmer ancestors, and today it has become a tourist attraction of many national and international visitors because there are many historical sites and cultural areas that make tourists want to learn about Khmer history. Besides the cultural area, there are also some natural resorts.
As for types of tourism, the province includes: natural and cultural tourism. However, cultural tourism is the most popular in the area because the province is home to many ancient temples. And for the natural area, there is a wonderful place which the area has a large rolled sandstone located at the foot of the Dangrek Mountains and adjacent to the borderline road No. 57 in Sangkat Bansay Rak, Samrong town.The recreational tourism site in the province including – A Tao Duong Chet Resort.
